My test album cover

I had a go designing an album cover, i think as my first attempt went okay with actual album art with pictures rather than typography-(something Ive previously done) is very hard. I found the right kind of effects and to have a balance, not too much editing and not a bland picture. I felt to try something in a way weird and different, as seen by Angel's previous albums they are very unique and stand out.

In a way my album i feel does reach that expectation, even though this is just a test, first attempt. It has a blurry vision, with a special curl effect, that is under 10 to give a twist, underneath the actual picture is a blue gradient, which i have shown by bringing the opacity of the actual picture down slightly and a merge effect. I have used font that stands out and even put a bold looking effect with a blue rim around the text, making it stand out even more. As an additional touch i have added the parents advisory logo, giving it a professional look.

Angel album art research

Angel is still counted as an upcoming artist, although quite popular in the UK, he still has a lot of people around the UK who may not have heard of him, i can personally say that some friends in college are not even aware of him. What my main purpose of saying is, that he is still not that well- known and so only has two albums released, to gather information of what type of person and what is represented of him and his style through the art is than very difficult.

Starting with the first official album he released, called '7 minutes before time'- In this album you can see a major close up of the artist's face and another key signifier in just the photo, is the tattoo on his hand which says his name. Apart from this is the digital type face where it represents time, which often can be seen in digital format and in this case is in the title of the album. Cleverly if you notice, instead like other album covers where the artist name is blatantly shown, you have the tattoo showing the name indirectly.

The second and more recent album from Angel is called 'in between time' - In this album there is a smokey theme where the album, seems to be covered with a black and smoke theme, all you can see is another close up of the artist's face but mainly shown are the eyes.

Overall you can see that each album has a movement and image, it started with the before time than moved too, in between time, the next could be after time possibly.
